A famous American rapper and actor, Ludacris is known for his unique music style. The artist managed to become a renowned rapper, starting from the position of usual DJ at the end of the 20th century in Atlanta. There are 10 studio albums Ludacris released during his career, most of which got positive reviews from the critics and, of course, his numerous fans all over the world.
Christopher Brian Bridges saw the world in Black Hollywood. His parents were both young students Wayne and Robert, who married just before the birth of their only son and child - Chris.
In Chicago, where the Bridges moved in the first half of the 1980s, Chris went to the mainstream school. But even then, music occupied a main and central place in his life. Robert and Wayne were fond of music, there were constant jam sessions in their house, and little Chris often took part in them. When the family went to parties, they never left Chris with the nurse, although they could afford it, but took him with them, and he was a real star every night, dancing in front of adults. Maybe that was also a reason the guy became a star. Chris was ten years old, and he already knew for sure who he wanted to be in the future.
At the tender age of 12, he and his friends formed a hip-hop band, but in 1990, the Bridges moved to Atlanta, and Chris had to leave his mates. In the 1990's Chris Bridges started to call himself an artist. He graduated from high school in Atlanta, attended College Park's Banneker High School, and, as his friend's mention, spoke only in rhyme, and always participated in verbal battles during lunch in the dining room between the students.
While studying in college, Chris began performing in nightclubs and soon gained some recognition as a funny DJ Chris Lova Lova. During the year, Bridges attended the university from time to time but gave it up. Ahead, the guy saw nothing but fame and fan crowds, and the pseudonym Ludacris, composed by analogy with the two words: funny and ridiculous, suited him really well.
In the earliest period of the rapper's work, his dissimilarity to other representatives of the hip-hop genre is obvious, and what most rappers did not like so much soon became part of Chris’s style and image. The young man did not try to pretend that he was from a low-income family and behaved like most other rappers. There were also none of such problems in his life as police harassment and drug problems. Chris was pleased with life and living conditions and showed satisfaction with himself.
In the summer of 1999, Chris released his debut studio album "Incognegro" as the member of his own newly founded label “Ludacris DTP Entertainment”. The album included 16 singles with a special southern comic flavor, many of which appeared in the album "Back for The First Time", which was a reissue of "Incognegro". The record was a great success and entered the top 5 of the Billboard 200.
The fame literally fell on the 23-year-old guy along with the provocative sexual single "What's Your Fantasy?". In a year, the number of sales of the album "Back for The First Time" reached 3 million of sales, the album took on a platinum certification, and Chris officially became a world-class rap star.
The rapper's next album, The World Of Mouf, was released in 2001 and confirmed that Luda is a much bigger and more interesting phenomenon than many could have imagined. He went down in history as an original musician who returned humor to rap music. Ingenuity, endless word games, a rich voice and skillful mastery of intonation tricks raised Chris to the same level as the most influential rappers of the 2000s.
In ten years, Luda has released six full-length albums, some more successful, some less, but he has been on par with venerable rappers such as Snoop Dogg and his longtime rival Jay-Z, and in 2014 and 2016 Forbes included Chris to the list of the richest rap musicians.
A living person, a comic talent, probably inherited by the artist from the grandfather of the famous comedian Richard Pryor, could not help but bring Chris to the movies. In addition to writing soundtracks to the pictures, Chris starred in many of them, and fans were happy to see his radiant idol on the big screen.
Appearing for the first time in 2003 in "Double Fast and Furious", the rapper took part in other films in the series, playing one of the leading roles. In the dramatic thriller "Clash", the rapper was accompanied by Matt Dillan, Loretta Devine, Sandra Bullock and Michael Peigne, and in 2008 Chris starred in the famous "Rock and Roll" by Guy Ritchie.
In 2018, he starred in the comedy "Dogs undercover", but viewers ruthlessly criticized the film, and Ludacris himself - nominated for the "Golden Raspberry" anti-award in the nomination "Worst Supporting Actor".
